REDAMBULANCE

Terms and conditions

Draft: this page will be reviewed by our legal advisers before launch.

Please read these terms carefully. By tapping “I agree” in the Red Ambulance or Red Ambulance Partner app, or by using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service — in an emergency, call 108.

Red Ambulance is a brand and technology platform owned and operated by Nipun India Skill Development and Training Private Limited.

For everyone

1. Red Ambulance is only a technology platform

Red Ambulance (“we”, “the platform”, including the company and the partner that operates a state on its behalf) provides a mobile app and website that connect people who need an ambulance with independent, privately owned ambulance operators and their drivers.

We do not own, operate or drive ambulances, we do not employ drivers, paramedics or doctors, and we are not a hospital, a healthcare provider or a medical transport company. We do not give medical advice.

Every trip is a service provided directly by the ambulance operator to you. The operator alone is responsible for the vehicle, its crew, its equipment and the way the trip is carried out.

2. Free platform

Using the Red Ambulance app is free for patients and families. We do not add any booking or convenience fee to the fare; the fare you see is the ambulance operator’s charge for the trip.

The platform is offered as a public service to help people reach an ambulance faster. During any launch period announced in the app, ambulance partners also use the platform without paying commission.

3. Not a replacement for 108

Red Ambulance complements, and does not replace, the free government emergency ambulance service. In a life-threatening emergency, always also call 108.

4. No guarantee of availability or time

We try to find the nearest available ambulance, but we cannot guarantee that an ambulance will accept, that it will arrive within any time, or that it will take a particular route.

Arrival and travel times shown in the app are estimates. Delays can happen because of traffic, road conditions, weather, accidents, vehicle breakdown, mobile network or GPS problems, or other reasons outside our control.

5. Limitation of our liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Red Ambulance, its directors, employees and state partners are not responsible for any injury, illness, death, loss or damage arising from or related to:

  • road accidents, vehicle breakdown or any incident during the trip;
  • late arrival or delay for any reason, including traffic;
  • missing, faulty or insufficient medical equipment, oxygen, medicines or trained staff in the ambulance;
  • the acts, omissions, behaviour or negligence of the ambulance operator, driver or crew;
  • medical treatment or outcomes before, during or after the trip;
  • information given by users that is wrong or incomplete.

Where we are found liable despite the above, our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount, if any, that Red Ambulance itself received as a fee for that booking.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

6. Verification has limits

We check ambulance partners’ documents (such as registration, permit, fitness certificate, insurance and driving licence) when they join and when documents expire. This is a document check only: we do not inspect every vehicle before every trip and cannot guarantee the condition of a vehicle or its equipment at any moment.

7. Accounts, data and changes

Keep your account to yourself and give correct information. We handle personal data as described in our privacy policy.

We may update these terms. When we do, the app asks you to accept the new version before your next booking or before going online.

8. Ads and third-party content

The apps may show clearly labelled sponsored content (“Sponsored”) from hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, insurers and other businesses, and links to their websites, YouTube, Instagram or other pages.

Each advertiser alone is responsible for its content, offers, prices, claims and services. Red Ambulance does not endorse any advertiser, does not give medical advice through ads, and is not a party to any dealing between you and an advertiser. Check details with the advertiser (and your doctor) before acting on an ad. You can hide or report any ad in the app.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to our grievance officer first (see the Contact page); we try to resolve every complaint quickly.

For patients and families

10. Confirm what you need with the ambulance

Before the trip starts, you must confirm directly with the ambulance driver or operator (using the in-app call or chat) that the ambulance has the equipment, oxygen and trained staff the patient needs, and that the type of ambulance suits the patient’s condition.

Choose the ambulance type (basic, ICU, neonatal, etc.) carefully and tell the crew about the patient’s condition. If you are unsure, consult a doctor or call 108.

11. Your responsibilities

  • Give the correct pickup location, patient details and a phone number that works.
  • Treat the crew with respect and follow their safety instructions during the trip.
  • Do not misuse SOS or make false bookings.
  • Pay the fare shown, to the driver or in the app.

12. Claims about the trip

Any claim about an accident, injury, delay, equipment or the crew’s conduct is to be made against the ambulance operator and its insurer. We will share the trip details we hold (operator, vehicle, times, route) to help you, as the law allows.

For ambulance owners and drivers

13. You are independent

You run your own ambulance business. You are not an employee, agent or partner of Red Ambulance. You decide whether to accept a request.

14. You are fully responsible for each trip

  • Keep the vehicle roadworthy and all documents valid: registration, ambulance permit, fitness certificate, pollution certificate, insurance (including third-party and passenger cover) and driving licences.
  • Carry the equipment, oxygen and trained staff you declared for your ambulance type, in working condition, and tell the patient honestly if anything is missing — before the trip starts.
  • Drive safely and follow traffic laws and your state’s ambulance rules.
  • Behave respectfully and keep patient information private.

You alone are responsible for accidents, injury, death, loss or damage during your trips, for the condition of your vehicle and equipment, and for the conduct of your crew.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Red Ambulance, its directors, employees and state partners against any claim, penalty, loss or cost arising from your vehicle, your crew, your trips, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

16. Platform rules

Commission, passes and payouts are as shown in the Partner app for your plan. We may suspend or remove an account for invalid documents, unsafe driving, complaints, fraud or breach of these terms, and may share information with authorities when required by law.
